I've been giving candle making a go so I thought I'd share with you my first attempt! It's no masterpiece, but hey, I learnt a few tips to make my next bunch a little better.
The main lesson I learn was to be patient! Don't try to take them out the mould until you know they are all set. This mistake meant I beheaded an innocent duck and cracked him in half...poor little guy!
The castle and duck were both done by melting down candles I had with orange / yellow crayons, adding scented oils, and putting them into a mould to set.
Although the duck does have a wick, I'm thinking he will look great melting on a wax burner, like he's swimming on the water!
The string ball was far easier. Well, easy is an understatement!
Take one tealight and one ball of string. Take said tealight and push it into the string ball. Then sit back and admire your beautiful tealight holder. It has probably taken you longer to read these words, than it will take you to make this lovely home decor. You're welcome :)
Oh and I almost forgot to mention that the castle mould was picked up in the 99p shop under the cake section. There's no need to spend loads of wonga when trying this out.
